Do Not Adjust Your Set - Everything is normal!

After a bit of consideration I decided to change the color scheme of the blog to something a bit lighter. I discovered that the Google search results were pretty much unreadable as it wasn't displaying a white background behind the text on some browsers. So, rather than make it a pain in the tail to search the blog, I decided to change the color scheme. Nothing else will be changing as far as color scheme goes, so keep calm and carry on. :)

Changes regarding the forum

I've had some questions crop up recently regarding privacy and personal security on the forum. In the interest of that I have made a few adjustments. The forum will still be free for everyone to use, but it will now require registration in order to be able to view the posts. Registration is quick and easy and once you've registered you'll be able to both view the discussions as well as post your comments.

Official StickerFAQ Twitter Feed!

While RSS feeds are useful, sometimes you just can't check them on a regular basis. To that end I've set up a Twitter feed for the FAQ, which can be found @stickerfaq on Twitter. Follow it and you'll get the latest updates to the blog sent directly to your Twitter feed as they happen! If you're not sure which one is me when the search turns up its results, look for the icon below:

Thoughts on GetGlue's new Stickers page

Now that everyone has had a day to get used to the new Stickers page on getglue.com I decided to throw out my impressions on it.  Hit the jump for the full skinny, because this is one of those book-length posts.

Stickers link adds features to GetGlue!

GetGlue has expanded the features on their site with a new Stickers link at the top of the page and a Stickers feed on the home page.  Clicking on the Stickers link at the top of the page will take you to a stickers page that shows you various groupings of the stickers - Limited Time Stickers, Featured Stickers, Groups, and Search. It also shows you stickers that you don't have and will flag the ones you've been awarded.
One down-side to this is it doesn't automatically list stickers that are no longer available. These can be found by searching for them. The images and info for these stickers will appear but the sticker will have a black bar across it with the marking "No Longer Available". (Hint: do a search for "Callie" to see what a NLA looks like).
This is definitely a boon for GetGlue users! No longer will you be stuck wondering what the text or image is for a sticker and you can immediately see if a sticker is live! Now if you'll pardon me, I have to go have a look and see if there is anything that I haven't earned yet.

Prototypes & Not Yet Released page goes live!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages! Gather 'round, gather 'round, and please allow me to direct your attention to the latest section of the blog, the Prototypes and Not Yet Released stickers page, showcased proudly in the sidebar at the left.  This will be a static page featuring teaser images that we've been able to finagle out of GetGlue's teasers and previews and will be dedicated to maintaining an archive of stickers that either are never released or have changes in their artwork between their initial tease and their final release. I also may throw some stickers in here that are rarities that most people will never earn due to their EXTREMELY limited nature, but that remains to be seen. Head on over and have a gander!

I wanted to take a time out from sticker hunting to say a big thank you to all my readers out there who check the site religiously for updates. The tips, hints, and pointers you send me help make this site what it is. I hope you all find it useful in your quest for increasing your sticker collection!  I also want to say a HUGE thanks to the sticker-hunting leaders out there on GetGlue - without you guys leading the way, the rest of us would be flailing in the dark on a lot of the oddball stickers out there.

On a side note, I realize the FAQ is a bit behind. Things have been a bit hectic for me in the last couple weeks at work and I haven't been able to give the full FAQ the attention it deserves. I should have some free time this weekend to get things added in and get the FAQ up to the current level of stickers. I may even start adding in images! Hopefully I'll be able to get this completed before the mass of check-ins that are going to be happening on Sunday, because I'm going to need all the free time I can get to make sure I hit all the Halloween check-ins that are on the calendar!
