Sticker Request Away!
I totally spaced on posting this on Tuesday, but after heavy consideration I decided to go ahead and try putting in another request for my stickers. I can't remember the exact date of my first request but I know it was at least six and probably eight or more weeks ago (I think it was September 10 or 11, right after I got the Ultimate Truebie sticker, which would definitely put at eight weeks). I never received anything from that first request and I figured that e-mailing Glue support was probably a useless act, considering that any other time I've had sticker glitch problems it took at least two e-mails to get any kind of reply from support and usually that only happened after the second e-mail (or the "nastygram" as I like to call it.) I also went ahead and dropped a Tweet on the 10th aimed @getglue noting that I was putting in my second request and that my first request for stickers never made it, which of course got no response. So now the countdown starts. Six weeks would put it at December 21. Eight weeks puts it into the new year. We'll see what happens and how many stickers I get out of the nearly 450 I had earned at the time of my request (if any arrive at all.) If GetGlue actually manages to come through with this then I'll eat my words and post pics of the haul of loot, but I get the sneaking suspicion that I'll be lucky to see more than twenty stickers, if they even arrive at all.

I've requested my stickers 2x, the first time within a week of me starting with GetGlue (I already had over 7 stickers then). I never received those stickers. Then, approximately 4 weeks later, I requested again. It's been at least 2 months since I requested, and I've never gotten ANY stickers!
ReplyDeletehello
ReplyDeletei've just received my first 15 stickers picked out of my first 100 stickers earned on the glue site (asked a month ago i think)... trying to ask for the next ones (i'm now at 358 stickers) but after filling in my adress, they told me that i've to wait longer for asking again.
If you look at the getglue twitter stream, you can tell they quick growth has taken them a little by surprise. They are quickly trying to increase number of employees & apparently have "revamped" the sticker mail-out protocol (I'm not sure of details, just gathered this from replies I've seen on the twitter page). I've yet to receive stickers, but it's apparently too early for me to re-request.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and understand a lot of your frustrations, but perhaps you may consider giving them a little slack while they try to grow their support staff. I don't mean that rudely - just a suggestion. :)
Yeah, you can only request your stickers once every thirty days, per GetGlue's FAQ - http://getglue.com/faq - I also think it sucks that they bumped it up from 7 to 15 for the minimum number required to request your stickers, but I can understand why. They'd be getting killed on postage costs!
ReplyDeleteHey all,
ReplyDeleteKel is correct! We are enjoying an extended period of growth. While this is ultimately a good thing, as with teenagers, a growth spurt introduces some complexities.
We're actively hiring and putting in place some new processes that we hope will help us manage the growth.
Processing sticker orders is one area that requires some attention. Expect a few changes in the coming weeks as we look to ensure that we set expectations correctly and then deliver excellent service against these expectations.
We're still behind due to volume and we're still working to improve the process. So please bear with us as we work to improve this feature!
All the best,
@Fraser
Fraser - thanks for acknowledging that you guys are working on it. I'll freely admit that I'm tainted by the knowledge of the level of customer service that the company I work for is expected to provide, and as such I tend to expect the same out of other companies. I forget that most start-ups are a small group of dedicated people that work long hours and are typically under-appreciated. As I hinted at above, I'll be the first one to sing your praises if things are working properly, but I'll also be the first one to call you on the carpet if things aren't. I have faith in GetGlue as a product and I'll be sticking with you guys (no pun intended) for the long haul.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya - I've now placed three orders... all I really really wanted were the True Blood ones. About a month ago or so I excitedly pulled an envelope from my mailbox - from getglue - I figured my first try at ordering would be slim because I was maybe at 100 - if that, as I had achieved the first five True Blood related ones - anywho - I opened the envelope to find 12... 12 stickers... 7 of which were the boring generic stickers (some of those are fun - but I got the boring ones) and the other five - product ones... Two Weeds, Three Entourage. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the massive upswing of users had to be utterly unexpected. That said - the draw for me was the free stickers, just because. I now love the website and the people I'm meeting through it, the new books I'm finding, new movies - you get the drift. My suggestion - if Glue can't send every sticker you've earned - then let us choose which ones we'd like to order - make a max # of ones you can pick out... something to make it more manageable for Glue and pleasing to the users... Now of course I want more than just the True Blood ones... but MAN I'd be happy just to get 'em ;)
ReplyDeleteI've requested stickers once since starting on GG about a month and a half ago and received about 16 stickers about a week and a half later! I was amazed they actually came, and 9 of them were were "good" ones; Mad Men, Weeds, The Big C, Tara & some movie ones. So I'm surprised to hear about all the non-receivers, I really enjoy these stickers so I hope they come next time I order them :) I appreciate all the knowledge guys! Thanks
